Luxor 3 is the fast paced and action packed third installment in the successful series of chain poppers. The main difference this time round is that the game has multiple playing modes, so you will be faced with different kinds of challenges to keep you on your toes.

In the main levels you control a scarab beetle which you can slide left and right along the bottom of the screen, and you launch shiny baubles upwards to make chains of three or more with other shiny baubles which are being pushed along pathways by other scarab beetles. When you make a chain, the baubles explode. Your aim is to explode them all before the scarabs can push them to the bottom of the screen.

The graphics in this game are beautiful, with the familiar Egyptian theme, and the effects are polished and impressive. It is not my favourite kind of game personally, because I like games with characters and chain poppers are too abstract for my taste, but it is certainly an excellent example of its type, and has plenty of lively gameplay to keep fans hooked. |
