Virtual Villagers - The Secret City Review
|
Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City is the latest in the successful series and is very much the same as the others in terms of gameplay. A group of villagers set off on a raft to find new places to populate, and the raft was blown off course in a mighty storm, setting them down in the ruins of an ancient city. This exciting beginning leads to new challenges and mysteries to investigate, ruins to rebuild and, as always, the general tasks of survival.
Try Out The Free Virtual Villagers - The Secret City Demo Today There are some new features this time around, such as different weather conditions, and collectible objects for the children to find, which I found rather fun. I do enjoy helping the little community along and seeing them learn and develop, but they need a lot of nurturing to get the best out of the game and you have to be able to pay them frequent visits. I was too busy to drop in for a couple of days and just found a village full of skeletons. I feel really guilty now, and am questioning whether our neighbour was wise to ask me to look after her cat while she's on holiday.
Play The Unlimited Version For Just $19.95 If you have never played a Virtual Villagers game before, be advised that everything happens in real time, leading to short but frequent playing sessions instead of a long, action-packed blast. You guide your little people towards tasks that need to be done and encourage them to learn and cooperate. It's a simple drag and drop control, you drag a villager to a food source that needs to be harvested or a hut that needs to mended, for example, and hopefully they'll get on with it while you go and make a cup of tea or fill in your tax return, though they sometimes need a little persuasion. In this game the little tribe can have a chief, who can inspire and unite her/his people. All in all a refreshing and pleasing gaming experience which will delight fans of the series and newcomers alike. |
