22nd July 2008
We are delighted to announce that Circulate is now available for the iPhone and
iPod Touch! Circulate Prologue was developed by our good friends at LemonQuest. Here's
what they had to say : "Circulate Prologue introduces a new element to the gameplay,
requiring players to rotate the entire game board by moving the phone itself. It’s
a control system that has never been seen before for either of these two devices,
making this a totally unique game system that is completely intuitive, easy to learn
and master". Circulate Prologue is available directly from iTunes' App Store and can
be purchased for just $0.99!
28th June 2008
We're proud to announce another big update to the Pi Eye site. Unfortunately
you won't see any changes and it looks exactly the same ... but ... it's now
driven by an all-new backend system which will make future updates to the
site (and its sister sites) a breeze, leaving more time for the all important
task of creating new games. One thing you may notice however is there are now
far more guest games to choose from and new guest games will appear far more
regularly with 2-3 games being added to our lists each week!
13th June 2008
System Mania has just had a major upgrade. The latest build now includes
a shop where you can spend your hard earned cash on various upgrades to
help you out in the game. Upgrades include 'UV Filter', 'Clear', 'Refill'
and 'Eeek!' ... there are twelve upgrades in all to try out. There's a new
Trophy screen which sets various bonus challenges and from level 5 onwards
and the game now introduces random 'events' to provide additional challenges.
There are 'Panic Attacks', 'Lights Out' and 'Steamed Up' events to contend
with, each of which puts a different spin on the gameplay!
16th May 2008
The new game is done! System Mania is now available for sale and we hope
you enjoy it. There will probably be a major update soon based on your
feedback but as always all updates are completely free of charge. I think
this is one of our best games to date, with a far lighter style and the
controls are easy to master ... although the game, like all Pi Eye games
will keep you challenged for some time.
17th March 2008
We've been working hard on the new game (the working title is Contraptions
but this will likely change). The new art style is coming along nicely and
with some practice it's gradually becoming quicker to produce new art as
required by the game. The game is taking longer to produce due to the new
style but should be available for beta in 2-3 months.
9th February 2008
We've started working on our new game. We're trying to find a lighter
style of graphics than used in previous games which means starting from
scratch with how things are created. The game itself will be nice and easy
to pick up and play too and the prototype is nice and fun to play. The
game should be available for beta sometime in the next few months.
28th January 2008
We've just finished a major update to the site and have even updated
the Pi Eye logo in all the games and movies. Hope you like the new look,
I think it looks crisper than before with more focus on content (there
are more guest games than ever too) and the site should be even easier to navigate. Let me know what you think ... or if you spot anything
broken ; )
17th December 2007
We've released updates to several of the games which now feature
online high scores! Each game (DarkSide, Cubology, Scavenger, ArkLight,
Circulate, Odd Box and WordJuice) has a new main menu link which allows
you to submit scores directly to an online high score page. I bet you
can't beat my scores though =D As always, all our updates are free of
charge, just download the latest version of any purchased games and use
your existing keys.
14th December 2007
We've just added a new DVD Case page where you can download an ultra-high
res (2760x1850) image for any of our games. Follow the instructions to
print them out at the correct scale and you to can be the proud owner of
a pretty DVD Case to keep a backup of your purchased game. Unfortunately there
are current no plans to release the games on DVD via Pi Eye Games as we
do think it's easier to just download them, and your keys are always on
file here just in case you lose them.
28th November 2007
The 'release' build (1.0) of DarkSide is now
available. DarkSide (game number 11) has been in production for two
years now and has been featured in our newsletter twice as 'nearly finished',
but finally, it's done! DarkSide now features an online high score table which
we hope to include in several of our current games in the near future. There are
also two new mission objectives and an extra alien which uses smart bombs
against you! Have fun : )
25th October 2007
A beta build of DarkSide is now available
to try out. It's an out-and-out shooter featuring intense asteroid-blasting
action. It's around 90% compete, we'll be looking to polish up the textures and
there are some sound effects currently missing. Any suggestions and feedback are most welcome, we hope you like it.
21st July 2007
This year has been going quickly as we've been busy with some games contract
work, but Pi Eye game number ten is finished at last. PyraCubes is a tricky
block-shifting puzzle game with 160 levels to keep your brain busy. Please read
all about it on the main PyraCubes page.
Hopefully it won't be long before the next game is complete, a follow up to
ArkLight which has been on the go for over a year now.
15th May 2007
We've just released a greatly improved Scavenger build available from the
main Scavenger page. Scavenger now features
four new alien types, a new power up system, an in-game level scanner, dynamic
scroll-zooming and loads of tweaked game parameters such as fuel, gravity, ship
size, headlight intensity and staggered multiple firing. The game's ramp has
also been fine tuned, meaning the levels are more evenly spread out so you'll get
to the exciting alien bits sooner =D
2nd February 2007
This month sees the release of our 9th game, developed right here at Pi Eye
Games. GridLines is an absorbing square-forming puzzle game in which you do
battle with your PC to take control of the game board. GridLines is our 3rd
$14.95 title which you can actually grab for free by purchasing any other game
(including guest games) at Pi Eye Games. See our Special Offer page for more details.
17th January 2007
Pi Eye Games has started making movies! Well, okay, they're just small movies
of our games, but they're kind of fun. Look out for the new movie links on the
Scavenger, ArkLight and Circulate pages.
15th December 2006
Scavenger has just been released at Pi Eye Games. This is our 2nd out and out
shooter and as usual we are really proud of it. This one will have you spinning
around aiming your ship's turrets at an onslaught of alien creatures. It takes a
little practice to come to terms with the later game modes but it's well worth
it. A beginners game mode is included which anyone will be able to play (we
switched the gravity off).
4th October 2006
We've just added the 7th game to be developed by Pi Eye Games to the site. Sweetopia
is a great chain popper game featuring several unique gameplay mechanics.
It's also the first game we've ever developed for an external publisher and
it was great fun writing the game in conjunction with the guys and gals at PlayFirst. Check out Sweetopia's Info Page for more details.
12th September 2006
ArkLight has just been featured on the front page of the first edition of
GameTunnel's indie game magazine. The downloadable magazine also features a
great review of ArkLight written by William Usher. If you enjoy indie games
please check out the magazine at
GameTunnel.
2nd August 2006
We've just added online versions of three of our games. You can play
these 'mini' versions for free at any time straight from your web browser.
You will need to download and install a special loader to play them, but
once installed you can play all our games, and games on many other sites!
Look out for the 'Play Online' buttons.
15th July 2006
There's another PiEye game available. Odd Box
is a strangely unique game in that it features 100% black and white gameplay,
which means you're matching patterns rather than colors. Who says independent
games can't be pretentious! Odd Box is available for free via our Special Offer.
25th June 2006
We've just added a new 'guest' games category, Action Games.
In this section you'll find some great shoot'em'ups and some fantastic break-out
games. During the next few weeks we'll be adding even more games to this
category as well as to our Arcade
and Puzzle guest game sections.
4th May 2006
Our 5th game has just been released. Mirror Mixup is a return to one of our
favourite genres, the puzzle game. This time it's a picture puzzle game which may
not sound quite as original as some of our puzzle games but don't worry it does
feature a unique 'twist'. Rather than simply moving pieces around a board, you rotate
whole areas
of the board round leading to some fairly tricky levels. We hope you
enjoy the challenge : )
7th March 2006
Our first joint
project with PlayFirst is going great and drawing towards beta, look for more
info in the near future. We've got a new newsletter system in place which allows us to include
pictures for the first time, making the newsletter even more fun to read : )
Sign up now to see the very first screenshots from our follow up to ArkLight !
4th January 2006
Happy new year ! Unfortunately we didn't have time to put the holiday
decorations up on the site this year as we've been incredibly busy with
development work. We're delighted to announce that we have developing a brand
new game for a major online publisher which should be released in the first half
of this year. Well, I better get back to it !
2nd November 2005
Well I was right, this month sees another revision to the site : ) In this
revision we've added 15 new games, all from fellow independent developers. We've
had a lot of fun choosing our favourites and we hope you like them. You'll find
the full list of available games in the Arcade Game
and Puzzle Game sections.
17th September 2005
Welcome to the 3rd major revision of our website. Although the navigation
remains consistent with the previous versions, we believe the site is looking
better than ever. Of course in a few months, it'll be time for another revision
!
5th August 2005
Our fourth game, ArkLight has just been
released. Although it's taken a while to finish ArkLight we think all the hard
work has been worth it. We hope you enjoy it : )
15th June 2005
Work is progressing well on our 4th title. Most of the level
design is complete and one of my personal favourite tasks is coming up - the
sound FX! Expect a demo in around 3 weeks time.
2nd May 2005
Cubology has just been updated and now features great new music, 100 levels
and enhanced arcade game-play. Version 1.07 can be downloaded from the Cubology Details
page.
23rd April 2005
The latest version of Circulate (v1.05) now features all new music and a
game-speed control allow you to adjust the game play to match your abilities.
The better you get, the faster you can play and the more chance you will have to
get into the Best Times table!
15th April 2005
Circulate has had it's first review at EmotionRays and they loved it : ) - "I
am still excited about this game! It's like a breath of fresh air in a world
ruled by Tetris and Bejeweled clones".
19th March 2005
We have just posted the first Cubology player-designed levels. Thanks to Jeff
for a great selection of levels, they are all entertaining and some are down
right tricky!
2nd March 2005
I have just added the first set of player designed levels to Circulate's
extras page. It's great to be playing levels I've never seen before and these
are real brain teasers! Thank you Quique for sharing your excellent levels.
5th February 2005
We've just released v1.02 of Circulate which now boosts 100 levels !, an
easier front end and a new system for creating your own custom levels.
23rd January 2005
Our third game WordJuice has just gone online.
It's a quick word forming game and it was a lot of fun to write. We
hope you like it : ) We've also updated the website, cleaned up the graphics and
made the site easier to maintain and expand.
2nd January 2005
Well, it's time to take down the Christmas decorations, and that includes
those on the site. After a restful holiday we are back and are currently focused
on producing or third title which should be available by the end of January. All the
best for the New Year!
8th December 2004
We've spent the last week submitting Cubology and Circulate to the download
sites. We've also updated the website, adding some pages and reducing
some unnecessary text ... and ... we've started work on our next game
!
27th November 2004
Version 1.0 of Circulate is now available for download and we have just
launched our first Special Offer in time for Christmas
: ) This offer is also valid for everyone who
has already purchased Cubology.
21st November 2004
We've added 3 additional cube types to version 1.05 of Cubology : 'Teleporters',
'Absorbers' and 'Crumblers'. We're also designing some extra levels which will be available by the end of the
week. Our second game 'Circulate' is also coming along nicely, expect to see a
demo within a couple of weeks : )
14th November 2004
A few changes to the site and a new update for Cubology (v1.03). You can now
choose between 10 preset backgrounds then 'tweak' them as you like. You still
have full control over the backgrounds if you want to create your own from
scratch.
7th November 2004
Well, the last week has been spent getting PiEyeGames and Cubology on to
several download sites. We've also set up our affiliate system for version 1.01
of Cubology. This update also includes an easier way to play your own levels -
straight from the front end.
29th October 2004
For anyone visiting this site who thought our launch game was called 'Cubic'
- don't worry, you're not going mad : ) 'Cubic' was renamed 'Cubology' after a
quick web search turn up about 10 other games called 'Cubic' (or something
*very* similar). Whoops !
25th October 2004
Cubology has it's first listing on the web today, at FileForum (Games-Demos section).
It's all very exciting, and hopefully I'll get enough feedback to get Cubology
'final'. I'm still looking for beta testers so visit the
Beta Application if you're interested.
22th October 2004
The e-commerce system with SWReg.org is now up and running, Cubology is
officially available to buy !
16th October 2004
Lots of feedback so far. Cubology really has progressed over the last week or
two and is hopefully a lot easier to pick up and play. I've added a load of
error handling and tracking, which makes it easier to fix bugs if and when they
come up. Thanks to all those at the IndieGamer forums !
5th October 2004
Well, today's the day. The Cubology demo is now downloadable for all to try.
Still some work to do on the site before the weekend, making it compatible with
Firefox and Netscape. My Mac friends will also be able to see the site
correctly.
29th September 2004
We've just finalised the website text for the beta release. Both games now have
their key/protection systems in place. A full public beta test will commence
next week for our launch title 'Cubology'.
5th September 2004
Well, it's been a year of very hard work but it's been worth it. Our site and
two games are at alpha stage, we're finally on-line and getting ready for the
beta testing. We've just started the protection system for each game. Not as fun as
actually writing the games, but it has to be done I guess.
